Born and raised in Thomaston, Georgia, Elder Stephany Raines is a woman of extraordinary talent, unwavering faith, and impactful leadership. Her life is a testament to excellence across every arena—athletics, academics, ministry, and education.

From a young age, Stephany stood out as both a scholar and an athlete. She graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA, served as Student Council President, and was honored as a member of the National Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Who’s Who Among American High School Students. On the basketball court, she was a State Champion, Player of the Year, and a Thomaston Hall of Fame inductee.

Choosing to attend Mercer University on a full basketball scholarship, Stephany became the university’s all-time leader in assists and steals. Her legacy earned her induction into the Mercer University Athletic Hall of Fame, and she graduated with a degree in Biology, with a minor in Psychology. She attended Luther Rice University, has a Master's in Leadership, and currently pursuing a Doctor of Theology degree.

Her coaching career is equally distinguished, with roles at Mercer University, Georgia State University, SCAD, the Virgin Islands National Team, Upson-Lee High School, St. George’s Episcopal School, and currently Heritage High School. She has earned Coach of the Year honors at both the high school and collegiate levels, mentoring athletes with the same passion and excellence that defined her playing career.

Yet, Elder Raines’ greatest victory came at the age of eight, when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior—a moment that marked the beginning of a lifelong spiritual journey. From a young age, Elder Raines carried a divine calling on her life, which she faithfully answered in 2007 at St. John Baptist Church, stepping into her call to preach the gospel.

She was later licensed and ordained, carrying the titles of Minister, Reverend, and Elder. Known for her powerful preaching, insightful teaching, and servant-leadership, Elder Raines has remained deeply committed to equipping others for ministry and fostering spiritual growth.

With over 20 years of experience in ministry, education, and church administration, Elder Raines served as the Professional Development Coordinator at Hope at the Well Bible Institute in Norcross, GA. There, she collaborated with educators and administrators to assess and enhance professional development initiatives, evaluate training effectiveness, and provided vital resources for instructional growth. She also served as an Associate Minister and member of the Education Team at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught leadership and theology classes.

With a rich history in church administration, spiritual mentorship, and theological education, Elder Raines served as Church Administrator at St. John Baptist Church in Savannah, GA, where she oversaw ministry operations and supported pastoral leadership. As College Ministry Director, she launched the impactful HYPE (Holy Young People Excited about God) Ministry, engaging young adults in vibrant faith-based initiatives. She also contributed to the church’s long-term development as a member of the Church Vision Team, focusing on outreach and growth strategies.

Stephany served as an Armor Bearer, offering spiritual and personal support to pastoral leadership, and was an active member of the Foreign Mission Team, helping to spread the gospel internationally.

In her role as Intern to the Director of the Ministerial Institute, she assisted in teaching and administration. As an Associate Minister, she authored a Minister Training Manual, trained Ministers in Training, and served on the Leadership Team and Strategic Planning Committee.

She also played a key role in the founding of Victory Theological Seminary, where she served as a Board Member, helping to shape the institution’s mission and direction. She also played a key role in the leadership at St. John’s Academy, where she was the Assistant Director and teacher. Elder Raines additionally co-facilitated and led numerous workshops, retreats, and training programs focused on spiritual formation and pastoral care.

She currently serves as the Executive Pastor and Chief Financial Officer of True Liberation Church, where she continues to lead with wisdom, compassion, and vision. Her ministry is anchored in the truth of Jeremiah 1:5 (NKJV):
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” This scripture remains a guiding force in her life and calling.

Whether in the pulpit, on the court, or in the classroom, Elder Stephany Raines leads with integrity, inspires with humility, and serves with unwavering devotion. Her life continues to impact generations through faith, discipline, and a relentless commitment to excellence. "She lives each day grounded in the truth that she is who she is because God created her, God loves her, God chose her, and God has set her free."
